Elastic aftereffect Elastic aftereffect refers to that when the pressing pressure is removed and the green compact is taken out of the die, due to the internal stress, the compact occurs elastic expansion.  The reason for the elastic aftereffect is that after the powder is pressed, the particles undergo elastic deformation, so that a large internal stress is accumulated inside the compact, which is an elastic internal stress, and the direction is opposite to the external force of the particles, trying to prevent the particles Deformation. When the pressure is relieved, the elastic internal stress relaxes.  In this way, the shape of the particles and the contact state between the particles are changed so that the powder compacts expand. As already mentioned, the compaction force is not the same in all directions, so the elastic internal stress is also anisotropic. The dimensional change of green compacts in the pressing direction can reach 5% 6%, perpendicular to the pressing side  The change in dimension is 1% 3%. Factors affecting the density distribution of green compacts As mentioned before, the total pressure used in the pressing is the sum of the net pressure and the pressure loss. This pressure loss is the main cause of the uneven distribution of the density of the green compacts in the ordinary steel mold pressing process. Practice has proved that increasing the height of the green compact will increase the density difference of each part of the green compact, while increasing the diameter will make the density distribution of the green compact more uniform, that is, the greater the height-to-diameter ratio HID, the greater the difference in density.
